12th Spring Bank Fishing Competition – Sunday 18th May 2025
at Elinor Trout Fishery, Aldwinkle, NN14 3EE
Our Spring Bank Fishing Competition at Elinor is a friendly and sociable event, open to members of the Guild only – great opportunity to meet other members, fish together and catch up over a light meal and a beer afterwards. The competition will be contested by teams of three but members entering as individuals will be placed into a team if feasible.
We usually fish from 9.30 a.m. to 12.00 noon, have a break for lunch, and then from 12.45 p.m. to 5.00 p.m., with a light meal and prize-giving ceremony afterwards.
Anglers must kill the first three fish and then may catch and release a further nine. The winning angler will be the one with the most fish. In the event of a tie, the weight of the first three fish will decide the outcome.
The price will be confirmed in the Winter issue of Flydresser – we may need to increase it a little from the £40 per person charged for the last two to three years, but we’ll keep it as keen as possible so as not to discourage you from entering.
